Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bromley is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our front-office engineering team working on EFX pricing and auto-hedging capabilities for FICC E-Trading. The role involves developing high-performance Java code, collaborating with Quantitative Strategies and Traders, and participating in Agile ceremonies as we push towards 2026 delivery.

You will work with ultra-low-latency technologies and have opportunities to influence design and production support within

Qualifications

  • Strong Java server-side development experience with high performance focus.
  • Broad tech stack knowledge from Java to Linux and networks.
  • Experience with KDB/Q and pricing or algo-trading in any asset class.
  • Excellent communication with tech management, traders and quant groups.
  • Full SDLC experience using Git, Jenkins, Ansible and related tooling.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns and multi-threading.
  • Team player with ability to drive tasks and engage other teams.
  • Experience in 3rd line production support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop realtime, low-latency pricing services for FX Spot, Swaps and NDF auto-hedging.
  • Enhance pricing and auto-hedging services for Spot and NDF with new features.
  • Update codebase for venue upgrades and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage fully with the Agile SDLC and cross-team collaboration.
  • Review code with Quantitative Strategies Group and strengthen backtesting.
  • Solve problems independently and drive tasks to completion.

Location Overview

Join our bustling Bromley office, situated in one of London’s greenest boroughs. Here you’ll find plentiful and easy commuting routes, with central London just 15 minutes away by train.

Role Description

We are a high performing front-office development team working on delivery of new strategic EFX pricing and auto-hedging capabilities for FICC E-Trading for 2026.

In a typical day you can expect to develop Java code, review code written by your colleagues, attend Agile ceremonies, refine requirements with users (Quantitative Strategies Group and Traders) and liaise with sibling teams in EFX (market access, dashboard, price distribution etc). There will be occasional L3 support.

You will have the opportunity to work with leading edge ultra-low-latency technologies like zero-GC JVMs, kernel bypass networking, core pinning and market data technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new realtime, low-latency pricing services for FX Spot,Swaps pricing and NDF auto-hedging
  • Develop new features and enhancements to existing pricing and auto-hedging services for Spot and NDF
  • Update existing codebase as required by external venue upgrades, internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Fully engage with the Agile SDLC
  • Work alongside Quantities Strategies Group to review code and enhance backtesting capabilities.
  • Solve problems independently, manage your own workload, engage other teams where required, **escalate** appropriately and pro-actively drive tasks to completion
What we are looking for
  • Highly technical with solid years Java server-side development experience.
  • Have full technology stack knowledge of Java to Linux and networks.
  • KDB / Q experience
  • Have prior pricing or algo-trading experience in any asset class.
  • Have excellent communication skills to face off to tech management, Quantitative Strategies Group and trading desk.
  • Full SDLC experience, Git, Jenkins, Ansible etc.
  • Advanced programming skills including: understanding of algorithms and data structures, design patterns, multi-threading.
  • Candidate must be a strong team player
  • Experience in 3rd line production support
