We are hiring for our client, a leading organisation driving transformation in Northern Ireland’s energy infrastructure, for the role of Future Power Markets Senior Lead Analyst. Based in Belfast with hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 remote), this is an opportunity to take on a strategic analytical leadership role within one of the most critical and future-focused areas of the electricity system.
As a Future Power Markets Senior Lead Analyst, you will guide the design and delivery of large-scale market modelling, lead a team of analysts, and provide data-driven insights that will shape future electricity market policy, planning, and innovation across Northern Ireland and beyond.

As Future Power Markets Senior Lead Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the development of advanced data models to forecast power market trends
• Managing complex data analysis projects that support strategic decision-making
• Guiding a team of senior analysts and fostering continuous innovation in modelling techniques
• Preparing detailed, concise market insight reports and scenario analysis for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness in the presentation of analytical findings to leadership
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed data-led insights into future market development initiatives
• Supporting the delivery of Northern Ireland’s energy transition goals through analytical expertise
We are looking for someone who has:
• A third-level qualification in data science, economics, engineering, or a related discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in analytical modelling within the energy sector
• Strong technical proficiency in Python, R, Excel and other analytical tools
• Proven experience managing analytical teams and delivering large-scale data projects
• The ability to present complex data in a clear and engaging way for varied stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to engage across technical and policy functions
Desirable (not essential):
• Experience working with SEM or European TSOs
• Familiarity with electricity market operations, balancing markets and regulatory codes
• Advanced knowledge of tools like Plexos or similar energy modelling software
• Understanding of renewable energy policies and decarbonisation pathways
