Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work across Further Education colleges and Post-16 provisions in South Wales. You will support learners to access education, develop independence and build confidence, collaborating with lecturers and support teams across academic, vocational and practical programmes.

Ideal candidates will have experience in education or related settings, be prepared for immediate starts, and hold or be willing to obtain EWC

Qualifications

• Previous experience in education, youth work, care, support work or a similar setting is desirable.
• EWC registration, or willingness to obtain, is required.

Responsibilities

• Support ALN, SEN, SEMH and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Work alongside lecturers to help learners access academic, vocational and practical courses.
• Support learners to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
• Use positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.
• Build positive and professional relationships with learners.

Aspire People are recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work across Further Education colleges and Post-16 provisions throughout South Wales.

You'll support learners to access their education, develop independence and build confidence, working alongside lecturers and wider support teams across academic, vocational and practical programmes.

About You & The Role

• Support learners with ALN, SEN, SEMH and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Work alongside Lecturers to help learners access academic, vocational and practical courses
• Support learners to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills
• Use positive behaviour support and appropriate de-escalation strategies
• Build positive and professional relationships with learners
• Adapt your approach to meet individual learning and support needs
• Previous experience in education, youth work, care, support work or a similar setting is desirable
• FE, college, Post-16 or school experience is desirable
• EWC registration, or willingness to obtain, is required
