Job summary

City of Glasgow College invites applications for a Bank Hours – As required - Fixed Term Lecturer in Furniture Craft and Design. You will prepare and deliver lessons, teach students across levels and assess their work within the Curriculum Area of Creative Industries.

Industry experience and CAD competency are essential, with a focus on traditional and modern furniture making techniques. Successful candidates join Scotland’s leading college with strong CPD opportunities and a supportive learning

Qualifications

As a lecturer you will provide professional expertise and be required to teach subjects on courses delivered by the curriculum area of Furniture Craft and Design, Furniture Restoration including Cabinet Making, furniture polishing and upholstery with key skills required in traditional and modern techniques and Furniture Making.
Previous training / teaching experience would be advantageous but not essential.
Industry experience and competency in Computer Aided Design packages essential.

Responsibilities

Preparation and delivery of lessons; the teaching of students and carrying out assessment and guidance activity where required.
You will deliver professional Courses within the Curriculum Area of Creative Industries to a diverse range of students at a variety of levels, with different learning styles.
Preparing lessons, teaching and marking/assessing students' work.
