Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Furniture Assembly Operative in Newton Abbot to join a growing mobility furniture company. You will assemble, check and finish metal and upholstered furniture on a day shift, using hand and power tools.

The role involves reading job sheets, following diagrams and ensuring products meet quality standards. Immediate start, with a temporary-to-permanent career path and onsite parking provided.

Qualifications

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and assembly instructions.
• Good attention to detail.
• Practical problem-solving skills, particularly when parts do not align correctly.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good basic communication skills.
• Previous furniture assembly or manufacturing experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow job sheets, assembly instructions and build diagrams.
• Safely use cordless drills, screwdrivers, mallets and other hand and power tools.
• Inspect finished products for quality, defects and correct assembly.
• Ensure products meet the required quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
