Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

What will you be doing?

As our Funeral Production Manager, you'll be overseeing our coffin factory and masonry production and administration businesses.

Through this role you will help to ensure efficiency, quality control, compliance and strategic growth whilst managing budgets and leading the teams.

You'll be helping to ensure that high quality craftmanship is delivered throughout our coffin and masonry production, and within agreed timeframes.

In this varied role, you'll have a wide range of responsibilities including:

  • Collaborating with funeral field teams to develop relationships and drive sales
  • Manage budgets
  • Implement lean production methods and continuous improvement initiatives- streamlining operations and maximising efficiency
  • Build effective working relations with internal and external stakeholders as well as 3rd parties
  • Attend meetings where required
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and industry regulations
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and the Senior Operations team to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and career development opportunities - encouraging colleague growth and retention.

In addition, you'll help drive community activity and build connections in your local community- encouraging your teams to support community events.

We want all colleagues to feel welcome and included as we know our colleagues are at the heart of what we do. You'll help play a pivotal role in this by leading and fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome. You'll help create a workplace culture built on support, training and engagement.

Please note this is a dual site management role (Masonry in Shepshed, Leicestershire and our Coffin Factory in Mansfield). Whilst you'll have a primary base at one site, you'll need to balance your time across both. Access to a pool car can be provided for travel to and from both sites.

How will I know if I am right for this role?

This role would suit someone who is driven and passionate about delivering results. Ideally you will have experience in a production environment and be skilled in supporting, leading and developing teams.

Ideally you will have a strong knowledge of lean production methods and be experienced in developing continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll be a confident communicator and comfortable in working with stakeholders both internally and externally.

You'll be able to demonstrate your knowledge of health, safety, environmental and industry regulations.
