Job summary

Lauderdale House in Highgate (N6) seeks an experienced fundraiser to become the first dedicated Fundraising Manager. This on-site role focuses on developing sustainable income and leading a small but ambitious programme.

You will build activity across trusts, foundations, individual giving and legacy giving, manage your own workload, and influence strategy with data, evaluation and compelling cases for support.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising into a sustainable income stream with a focus on trusts/foundations, individual giving and legacy giving.
• Lead donor cultivation, stewardship and pipeline development.
• Create and implement fundraising strategy, including impact, evaluation and cases for support.
• Manage fundraising data, reporting and compliance to ensure transparency and accountability.

Holiday: 25 working days plus public holidays

This is an on-site role and isn't suitable for remote or hybrid working.

We're looking for an experienced fundraiser to become the first dedicated Fundraising Manager at Lauderdale House, a much-loved arts, heritage and community organisation in Highgate.

This could be a great next step if you've built solid practical fundraising experience and are ready for a role with more responsibility, independence and the opportunity to influence how a fundraising programme develops.

You might currently be a Fundraising Officer, Senior Fundraising Officer, Development Officer or similar within a larger team. Or you may already manage your own portfolio within a smaller organisation.

You don't need to have run an entire fundraising function before. What matters is that you have a track record of securing income and are confident using your experience and judgement to identify opportunities and move them forward.

The opportunity

Working closely with our Director, you'll help develop fundraising into an additional sustainable income stream, with a particular focus on:

• Trusts & Foundations;
• Individual Giving;
• Legacy Giving;
• donor cultivation and stewardship;
• fundraising strategy and pipeline development;
• impact, evaluation and cases for support; and
• fundraising data, reporting and compliance.

This is a new role, but you won't be starting from scratch.

We have established education and community programmes, successful previous trust applications, evaluation and impact data, previous donors and a highly engaged community of supporters.

In 2028, Lauderdale House will also celebrate 50 years as an arts and education centre, creating a major opportunity to develop individual giving and supporter engagement.

We're looking for someone with solid practical fundraising experience and a track record of securing income who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You should have:

• a successful fundraising track record relevant to the role;
• experience managing your own fundraising workload or portfolio with a good degree of independence;
• experience taking responsibility for fundraising targets or income goals;
• confidence researching opportunities, making recommendations and moving work forward;
• strong written communication and relationship-building skills;
• experience using CRM or database systems;
• knowledge of fundraising regulation, data protection and best practice; and
• strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience within arts, heritage and/or community organisations would be welcome, alongside an interest in arts, heritage, education and community activity.

You don't need to have previously been a Head of Fundraising or run an entire fundraising function. You might currently be a Fundraising Officer, Senior Fundraising Officer, Development Officer or similar and be ready for a role with more responsibility and scope to use your own judgement.

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent
