Job summary

Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation is seeking a Funding Information Manager in London with hybrid working. You will provide accurate information about the funding portfolio, support fundraising and communications, and collaborate across the Charities directorate and with external stakeholders.

• Degree in a STEM or health subject or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proven experience translating complex science/health content into clear and accurate information for different audiences.
• Experience working with charity functions such as fundraising and communications.
• Experience working with researchers, clinicians, universities or NHS partners and staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key link between Funding & Impact team, Fundraising and Experience and Engagement on funding portfolio activities.
• Develop systems and processes to share funding information in line with strategic priorities and funding lifecycle.

Description

The Funding Information Manager is responsible for providing accurate and accessible information and content about the funding portfolio and its progress and impact. This role is a vital enabling role that supports fundraising and communication plans to inspire greater support for our NHS Charities. The role sits within the Funding and Impact Team and is a highly collaborative role working with teams across the Charities directorate and with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a key link between the Funding & Impact team, Fundraising and Experience and Engagement on activities relating to our funding portfolio.
• Working closely with the Head of Impact Evaluation and Information, develop systems and processes to support the sharing of funding information in alignment with our strategic priorities, thematic areas and at important junctures of the funding lifecycle.
• Work closely with Fundraising and Experience and Engagement teams to understand their needs in inspiring greater support for the work of NHS Charities.
• Effectively translate and disseminate, sometimes scientifically complex and/or politically sensitive, information about the funding portfolio and upcoming funding pipeline into engaging, timely and accurate information to support Fundraising and Experience and Engagement.
• When required, provide input on fundraising cases for support and donor reports.

• Work with Fundraising and other key internal stakeholders to ensure systems and processes between Fundraising and Funding and Impact are optimised, particularly in relation to managing restricted gifts against specific grants.
• Work with Fundraising to align funding reporting requirements to external donor reporting requirements.
• Providing information reactively to Fundraising and Experience and Engagement teams.
• Proactively collaborate with Fundraising and Experience & Engagement teams to provide information on the funding portfolio that supports appeals, proposals, reports, stewardship, websites, social media, publications and campaigns.
• Monitor progress of the funded portfolio through grant reporting and directly engaging with grant holders, clinicians and researchers, and collate information and updates to share with relevant stakeholders.
• Providing information reactively to Fundraising and Experience & Engagement teams.
• Support the development of impact reporting and wider outputs that communicate the progress and impact of the funded portfolio.
• Ensure messaging about funded work is consistent and accurate.
• Develop a strong understanding of the funding portfolio and progress, as well as knowledge of grant holders and reporting mechanisms, to support monitoring, evaluation and impact activities.
• Working closely with the Funding team and wider Charities directorate to source and organise sessions with grant holders to convey the impact of funding.

Role responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you would be reasonably expected to take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications:

• Degree in a STEM or health subject or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proven experience in translating complex science/health content into clear and accurate information for different audiences.
• Experience of working with and understanding needs of charity functions such as fundraising and communications.
• Experience or showing an understanding of working for a funding body.
• Experience of working with researchers, clinicians, universities or NHS partners and staff.
• Experience in building relationships across multiple teams and understand clearly others’ needs.
