Reporting directly to the Founder, the successful candidate will oversee the fund and corporate accounting elements of the business. Key responsibilities will include fund accounting and NAV reporting, the review of financial statements and management accounts that are prepared by external accountants, supporting responses to investor queries, leading the end-to-end audit process, and managing compliance reporting and regulatory filings across different jurisdictions.
This is a stand‑alone role offering considerable ownership and autonomy. You will manage the relationship with outsourced accountants and fund administrators, while acting as a key point of contact for external advisors, auditors, and legal counsel.
The role will also involve driving the continuous improvement of the firm’s financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and implement automation where appropriate.
Skills
The ideal candidate for this Fund Controller role will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with at least three years’ fund accounting experience gained post‑qualification outside of public practice. A strong understanding of NAV calculations within alternative asset classes, such as private equity, venture capital, hedge funds or digital assets, is highly desirable.
Candidates should possess strong technical accounting and communication skills, together with the ability to operate autonomously in a lean, dynamic environment. Experience with digital asset fund structures, multi‑jurisdictional entities or family offices would be an advantage.
