Job summary

IQ-EQ in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks a detail-oriented funds accountant to act as day-to-day front office contact for designated private equity and real estate clients. You will manage client deliverables, review financial statements, and ensure compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS, using strong communication with CFOs and teams.

Qualifications

• Higher education qualification (e.g., IATI) and ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in a professional office environment, ideally in financial services or accounting.
• Strong accounting expertise, reviewing working papers and financial statements with disclosures.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and resolving client issues.
• Mentor junior team members while applying intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationships for designated clients, overseeing deliverables and timelines.
• Review quarterly/annual financial statements to ensure UK GAAP/IFRS compliance.
• Validate investor drawdown and distribution calculations and communicate cash activity.
• Mentor team members and develop expertise in client accounting frameworks (LPA).
• Drive process improvements, balance stakeholder needs and optimize workflows to reduce risk.
