Job summary

Alter Domus in Jersey is seeking an entry-level accounting assistant to support a Senior Officer with accounting services, cash management, and bookkeeping for funds and entities. You will assist with management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.

You will liaise with tax advisors on compliance, respond to client tax planning queries with external advisors, and be part of a team working to tight reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths/English preferred)
• A-Levels or University Degree
• Studying towards ACCA or ACA (costs supported)

Responsibilities

• Aiding a Senior Officer in delivering accounting services.
• Cash management and regular client cash reconciliations.
• Bookkeeping and reporting for companies, funds and fund structures.
• Preparation of management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Assist with audit queries.
• Liaising with tax advisors for ongoing tax compliance responsibilities.
• Responding to client tax planning requests with external advisors when needed.
• Work with a team of qualified and trainee accountants to meet reporting deadlines.
