Job summary

Morgan Stanley Glasgow is seeking a Fund Accountant Associate to join the Fund Services team. You will manage end-to-end accounting for client funds, including P&L, balance sheet and NAV reporting, with exposure to hedge funds, private equity and other strategies.

The role requires ACCA/CIMA/CA qualification or qualified by experience, strong communication, accuracy, and advanced Excel skills. You will work with teams across regions to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified/ Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA accountant or qualified by experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High degree of accuracy, ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Solid Excel skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end P&L and balance sheet for client accounts.
• Calculate daily NAVs and perform reconciliations.
• Review monthly capital movements and ad hoc corporate actions.
• Analyse performance and validate income/expense journals.
• Prepare month-end P&L and balance sheet for client sign-off.
• Produce investor-level allocations of income and expenses.

Read on...What will you be doing?The Fund Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end process with respect to their client’s accounting requirements. This includes overseeing the full P&L and balance sheet and daily net asset value reporting. In addition to this the successful applicant will develop knowledge of Alternative Investment Funds including knowledge of the products, strategies, hedge fund accounting, fee structures (e.g., incentive and management fees) and investor level accounting.
