Job summary

Alter Domus in London hires a Fund Accountant to service our portfolio of alternative asset clients (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Credit) as part of a collaborative team.

You will assist with bookkeeping, prepare management accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS, support annual audits, process capital calls and distributions, and maintain client relationships and Know Your Customer files while contributing to regulatory and KPI deliverables.

Qualifications

• University level or equivalent qualification in finance or accounting.
• ACCA/ACA or equivalent study ongoing or planned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping and reporting of funds and related structures.
• Prepare management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS with trial balances and notes.
• Support annual audit process.
• Process fund capital calls, distributions, subscriptions and redemptions.
• Serve as a contact for clients, boards, banks, lawyers, accountants and tax advisors.
• Assist with Know Your Customer and Due Diligence files.
• Process client payments on various bank platforms.
• Assist with regulatory & compliance processes and KPI monitoring.
• Support ad hoc projects as required.

THE ROLE

We are currently hiring a Fund Accountant in our London office where you will be responsible for helping to service our portfolio of alternative asset (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Credit) clients and will work as part of a team to achieve and meet their needs.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the bookkeeping and reporting of funds and associated fund structures.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS (primary statements and notes utilising trial balances and associated documentation).
• Assist the team with the annual audit process.
• Assist with the processing of fund capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, and redemptions.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, board members, third party intermediaries such as banks, lawyers, accountants, and tax advisors both in person and via written or telephone communication.
• Assistance with the preparation, collation and ongoing monitoring of Know Your Customer and Client Due Diligence Files.
• Processing client payments on a variety of bank platforms.
• Assistance with Fund related regulatory & compliance processes. Assist with the monitoring and delivery of finance and compliance related KPIs.
• A ssist with ad hoc projects as required from time to time.

YOUR PROFILE

• You are educated to the equivalent of A-Level or University Degree (degrees in finance or accounting related subjects would be preferable but not mandatory). Candidates with relevant experience in an accounting or finance related role would be desirable, but graduates looking for their first role will also be considered.
• You are studying for or are prepared to study for a relevant professional qualification such as ACCA or ACA or equivalent.
• You possess team spirit, the capacity to build strong client relationships, and take initiative to act without waiting for direction when appropriate.
• You are ambitious with a high level of energy and commitment.
• You can work under pressure and meet a range of deadlines.
• You possess excellent communication skills.
