Job summary

Catch22 College in Peterlee is seeking a Functional Skills Teacher to deliver Maths and English from Entry to Level 2, creating an inspiring learning environment and supporting diverse learners. For the role a recognised teaching qualification (Level 5+) is essential; experience with SEND and challenging behaviour is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised teaching qualification at least Level 5.
• Experience in teaching functional skills and planning.
• Experience with learners with SEN and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Teach Functional Skills from Entry Level to Level 2 in Maths and English and deliver engaging lessons.
• Develop and update schemes of work to meet curriculum and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor and report learner progress using college systems and IEPs.
• Engage with parents and carers regarding learners’ progress and targets.
• Ensure high standards of behaviour and safeguarding across the classroom.
• Collaborate with team to provide strong pastoral support for learners.
