Make a Real Difference in Young People's Lives

Prospero Teaching is working in close partnership with local councils, SEND services and education providers across Gateshead to deliver tailored, one-to-one and small-group Functional Skills support. We are currently recruiting experienced Tutors to teach Maths, English and PSHE at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2.

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated Functional Skills Tutors in the Gateshead area to support students who are not currently accessing full-time education. Many learners may be experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges, so we are looking for Tutors who are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people re-engage with learning.

Tuition is delivered in person, which may take place in:

• Community venues
• Alternative provision settings
• Occasionally, the student's home environment

Position Details

• Pay rate: Up to 30 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
• Hours: Up to 15 hours per week per student
• Start date: October 2026
• Location: Gateshead
• Duration: Ongoing
