Job summary

Nova Training in Oldbury is hiring an English Tutor to join as a Functional Skills Tutor on a full-time basis. The role covers delivering English and Maths up to Level 2, with 37.5 hours per week and a salary of £25,000–£30,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will motivate learners, plan lessons, and help them achieve their functional skills qualifications while safeguarding learners and adhering to DBS checks and recruitment processes.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2.
• A minimum of 2 years teaching in 14-19 provision.
• Full teaching qualifications as listed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and prepare lesson plans.
• Meet KPI and performance targets.
• Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
• Develop delivery to maximise progression opportunities.
• Create supportive learning environments and regularly assess learners' work.
