East Lancashire Learning Group is recruiting a Casual Functional Skills Tutor to deliver English to apprentices from Level 1 up to Level 2. The role is part-time, up to 15 hours per week across three days, with additional time for planning, marking and learner records.
Delivery will be at college sites and online, with occasional employer premises or other locations. Experience in teaching Functional Skills English, GCSE English at level 2, and a recognised teaching qualification are required.
The post will provide up to 15 hours per week, normally worked across three days. As a casual role, the precise pattern and number of hours offered may be adjusted in response to learner numbers, timetabling and assessment requirements.
You will join East Lancashire Apprenticeships and play an important role in helping apprentices develop the English skills they need to progress and achieve. You will deliver approximately eight -ten hours of classes each week, with the remaining time supporting high-quality planning, individualisation, marking, assessment, progress reviews, target-setting and accurate learner records. Delivery will take place primarily at college sites and online, through group, small-group and one-to-one sessions. Occasional delivery or learner support at an employer premises or another College location may be required. We are looking for an effective and enthusiastic English practitioner who can use apprentices' starting points to plan purposeful learning, provide constructive feedback and intervene promptly where progress is at risk. The ability to deliver Functional Skills mathematics would be a strong advantage and may provide opportunities to support maths delivery when required.
