A leading education provider is seeking an inspiring tutor to deliver Functional Skills in a custodial environment at HMP Dovegate. The ideal candidate will possess a Level 5 DET and experience in teaching English or Maths. HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison located on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter.
You will be an inspiring tutor with a background in education, ideally with experience in your specialist areas of English and/or Maths. Good technical knowledge and skills are essential. Experience working with learners from non-traditional backgrounds would be beneficial. You should be capable of delivering varied, high-quality, and imaginative sessions, with a record of good retention and success rates. The role involves delivering Functional Skills in work-based areas, and outreach experience would be an advantage.
Your core duties will include preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, developing flexible learning materials, writing schemes of work, and mentoring.
You will also play an active role in marketing the provision and record key data such as retention, achievement, and success rates.
