A leading education provider is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor for home and community-based sessions focusing on English and Maths for vulnerable learners. This temporary position is ideal for those with teaching qualifications and experience supporting young individuals facing challenges. Location: Home and community-based | Rate: £30–£35/hr
Support vulnerable learners aged 14–18 who are working below GCSE level. Your sessions will focus on Functional Skills in English and Maths, delivered in a practical, engaging format that reflects real-world application.
Most pupils have SEMH or SEN needs, and may be out of school.
Teaching qualification, perferably with QTS
Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS certificate or a willingness to obtain one
Experience supporting disengaged or vulnerable learners
Ability to personalise content and pace to suit learner
Consistent, part-time hours that fit around your schedule
Opportunities to shape how sessions run
Regular contact with a friendly, specialist team
Work with pupils on a path back to learning success

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
