Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to provide personalised tuition to learners across Halton, helping them develop English and Maths skills toward Functional Skills qualifications. Sessions are tailored to each learner's starting point to support progress and confidence.

Functional Skills Tutor - Halton

Prospero Teaching is seeking skilled Functional Skills Tutors to provide personalised tuition to learners across Halton.

You’ll help students develop their English and Maths skills while working towards Functional Skills qualifications. Sessions will be adapted to each learner's starting point, allowing you to focus on both academic progress and building confidence.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
• Previous experience in teaching or tutoring
• Strong subject knowledge
• A flexible and encouraging approach to learning

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
• Provide two professional references
