Job summary

sjb medical is seeking a Functional Assessor to combine clinical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered assessments. You will evaluate how health conditions affect daily living and work capabilities, using in-person, video, or phone consultations.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with at least 12 months UK post-registration experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making with a focus on functional assessment.
• Excellent communication skills to build trust and ask appropriate questions.
• Digitally capable with experience using clinical software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out functional assessments face-to-face and via video or phone.
• Take detailed medical histories and conduct physical examinations.
• Inform high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection - giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.

You'll carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). • A registered Nurse, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist or Physiotherapist with at least 12 months' post-registration UK experience

• Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems
• Self-motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity
