Job summary

Net Zero Careers in Manchester is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our growing team. The role covers domestic and commercial electrical installation, testing and inspection, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

AM2 and 2391 qualifications are required or willing to train; we offer fully funded solar electrical training, a permanent full-time position, and opportunities for progression within a Renewable energy focused company.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation is required.
• 18th Edition BS 7671 wiring regulations knowledge required.
• AM2 qualification including Testing & Inspection.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Proven experience as a qualified Electrician.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, testing, inspection, and fault finding to high standards.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 (18th Edition).
• Complete testing and inspection certificates accurately and on time.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with customers, site managers, and colleagues.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work vehicles in good working order.

Role Overview We are looking for a qualified and motivated Electrician to join our growing team with AM2 and 2391 Qualifications.

We have roles based in Manchester and Solihull.

This role involves carrying out high‑quality electrical installation, testing, and inspection work in domestic and/or commercial settings, ensuring all work is completed safely and in full compliance with current regulations.

While previous solar PV experience is not essential, we are happy to put the successful candidate through a recognised solar electrical course, offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• AM2 qualification, including Testing & Inspection
• Proven experience working as a qualified Electrician
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but Not Essential)

• Previous domestic or commercial electrical experience
• Experience with testing & inspection reports (EIC, EICR)
• Renewable or solar PV experience (training provided if not)
• ECS or JIB Gold Card Training & Development
• Solar electrical course provided for the right candidate
• Ongoing training to support professional development
