Job summary

Affirm is seeking a software engineer to help shape Direct-to-Consumer products for the UK and international markets. You will work across product management, design and analytics, shipping features in a fast-paced, autonomous team.

You will build APIs with Python/Kotlin and frontend UI with React or Vue, while maintaining high standards and robust testing. You will join a remote-first, international environment that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a global engineering team.
  • Ownership mentality; proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback via code reviews.
  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer; able to break down problems into multi-component solutions.
  • Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.

Responsibilities

  • Break down large projects into manageable tasks and deliver in multiple phases, collaborating with others for timely delivery.
  • Support peers and stakeholders across the product development lifecycle including product, design and analytics.
  • Create and monitor metrics to support operations and on-call duties.

Responsibilities
  • We directly improve the financial lives of over 20 million people shaping how we build Direct-to-Consumer products for Canada, the UK, and future international markets
  • We build and own various products used by our consumers, like the affirm App and other Direct to Consumer products across international markets

  • You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs
  • You will support the operations and availability of your team's artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting "keep the lights on" & on-call efforts
  • You will contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process
