Job summary

Forward Role is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a national security project. You will design, develop and test bespoke software using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript and React, in a hybrid role with a base office and occasional client engagement in London.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deploy to AWS and Azure, and drive the full software lifecycle from concept to delivery and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Java, TypeScript, JavaScript and React skills.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Ability to obtain UK security clearance (British citizenship and five years' residency).

Fullstack Expertise in Java — National Security

I am working with a national security client seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, TypeScript, JavaScript and React to join a live project within a Central Government team. This is a hybrid role with a designated base office, alongside regular (typically bi-weekly) client engagement in London.

The Role

• Design, development and testing of bespoke software solutions
• Wide use of open-source libraries and components across a varied tech stack
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab
• Deploying to public cloud (AWS, Azure) and private cloud environments
• Full software lifecycle involvement, from concept and requirements through to delivery, support and maintenance
• Opportunity to lead teams and manage client engagement, depending on experience

Rates

• Dependent on client, grade and experience; details discussed on application anywhere between (£45k-£70k)

Security Clearance
