£28-30k (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Location: Beckenham/Bromley, with a Catford Head Office
Working pattern: Monday to Friday role. Term time: 7:30-8:30am (breakfast club) and 3-6pm (after school club) with admin/office work in hours in between. School Holidays: 7:30am-6pm (holiday camp management)
Our client is a growing children’s sports and activities provider in South East London, running wraparound care, after school clubs and Ofsted-registered holiday camps in partner schools across Bromley and Lewisham. They’re looking for a Full-Time Wraparound Childcare Manager to lead their breakfast and after school provision in the Beckenham area, then step up as a holiday camp manager when the schools break up.
This is a wraparound role with a difference. Breakfast club and after school club sit alongside a business built on sport, music and fun, so the children in your care get more than a waiting room at the end of the school day. You’ll lead your own team, own the relationship with your school, and have genuine variety across the year as term time gives way to busy, energetic holiday camps.
On offer is a salary of £28-30k depending on experience, a friendly team with regular company events, and the chance to grow with a business that’s expanding across South East London.
Daily operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of breakfast and after school club, including activity planning, attendance and a safe, welcoming environment.
Team leadership: Lead and manage the wraparound team, including rotas, training, development and performance management.
Activities: Plan age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, learning, positive behaviour and plenty of fun.
Compliance: Make sure the provision meets Ofsted requirements and follows the school’s safeguarding, child protection and health and safety policies.
Relationships: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, and manage the day-to-day relationship with the client school.
Holiday camps: Manage holiday camps during the school holidays, leading staff and keeping every day safe and well run.
Performance: Deliver the team’s key performance indicators and help the provision grow.
Childcare experience: You have proven experience in childcare, teaching, nannying or a similar role supervising and caring for children.
Leadership: You’re confident leading a team and organising busy sessions while staying calm and flexible.
Knowledge: You understand child development, safeguarding and what good practice looks like in an Ofsted-registered setting.
Communication: You’re warm and clear with children, parents, staff and school partners.
Qualifications: A Level 2 (or above) childcare qualification is a strong bonus, as most sites include preschool-age children.
Driving: A full UK driving licence is a bonus but not essential.
