Job summary

Standby24 is seeking experienced Support Workers to provide care for individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, ASD, and complex needs in Surrey. You will deliver person-centred care following care plans and risk assessments, and help the individuals achieve greater independence.

This full-time role involves days and some nights, weekend/bank holiday shifts, and requires calm, resilient, and well-organised candidates with a passion for supporting independence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker in mental health or learning disability services.
• Experience supporting individuals with ASD, mental health needs, learning disabilities, or challenging behaviours.
• Eligibility to work in the UK with no restrictions.
• In-date PMVA or equivalent restraint training.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a car (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support, building a positive trusting relationship.
• Deliver support in line with care plans, risk assessments, and strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, effective support.
• Help the individual access the community, attend appointments, and develop independence.
• Encourage choice, dignity, inclusion, and participation in daily life.
• Communicate with family, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Follow policies, procedures, and best practice standards.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meals, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe living environment.
