Job summary

A specialist educational institution in Chester is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. This full-time role involves supporting students aged 2 to 19 with severe learning difficulties. You will assist in teaching under the direction of qualified staff, implementing individual education plans, and promoting positive development. A passion for working with SEND students is essential. Full training and a supportive environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with severe learning difficulties and/or additional needs is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for supporting SEND students to achieve their full potential.
• Previous experience in 1 to 1 roles preferable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning and development under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development.
