Job summary

Bronson Orthopedic and Joint Specialists in Kalamazoo is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant. Under the provider's direction, you will perform nursing support, record vital signs, educate patients, and assist with procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or eligibility to obtain CMA/RMA within six months.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and strong interpersonal communication to support clinicians and patients throughout visits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or eligibility to obtain CMA/RMA within 6 months.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for CMA/RMA within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line clinical support under provider direction.
• Take vitals, immunizations, and patient history; document in chart.
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, and care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information securely.
• Operate EMR systems and input/retrieve data accurately.
• Coordinate tests, referrals, and scheduling across departments.
• Assist with procedures and specimen collection as needed.
• Attend required staff meetings and participate in team care.
