Job summary

Butlers Consultancy in Hackney, East London, is seeking a Nursery Assistant for a three-month cover on a full-time rota. Hours are 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm.

You will hold Level 3 in Childcare and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service; you will support care, learning and development under the EYFS framework, observe progress, and report to senior staff while helping create a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Childcare required.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Full-time role on a shift rota (8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm).

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing high-quality care and education for children.
• Support planned learning activities and encourage children's development.
• Help create a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
• Supervise children during play, meals and rest times.
• Assist with personal care routines including feeding, toileting and nappies.
• Observe children's progress and report concerns to senior staff.
• Work with colleagues to maintain consistent routines and standards.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
