Job Objective:

Supports management with product sales and acquisition, store maintenance and appearance, customer development and retention, and banking and record-keeping procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Proficiently uses cash register and assists others with basic register problem solving.
  • Implements store opening and closing procedures as assigned. Supports management with banking and reporting procedures.
  • Handles cash procedures for opening and closing registers, makes bank runs, and deposits daily.
  • Reports store product acquisition, production, and sales as requested.

Implement strategies to meet product acquisition, production, and sales goals. Know the daily goals and product rotation process, ensuring products are turned over diligently.

  • Communicates with central warehouse to place orders for the next day's processing when assigned. Supports store maintenance and appearance, following procedures for safety and upkeep.
  • Checks that displays and floor layouts are followed and updated. Looks for ways to improve store appearance and appeal.
  • Supports management in creating a positive shopping experience with excellent customer service. Handles customer complaints as needed.
  • Maintains communication with Store Management regarding all store operations, incidents, and concerns.
  • Supports management in fostering understanding of policies and procedures, directing complaints and criticism appropriately.

Supports resource protection and implements product control procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage, controlling waste of property, utilities, and supplies.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager or assistant manager.
