Job Objective

Supports management with product sales and acquisition; store maintenance and appearance; customer development and retention; and banking and record-keeping procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Proficiently uses the cash register and assists others with basic register problem solving.
2. Implements store opening and closing procedures as assigned. Supports management with banking and reporting procedures.
3. Applies cash handling procedures for opening and closing registers. Makes bank runs and daily deposits.
4. Reports store product acquisition, production, and sales as requested.

Implements assigned strategies to meet product acquisition, production, and sales goals. Knows the goals for the day and the product rotation process, ensuring products are turned over diligently.

1. Communicates with the central warehouse to place orders for the next day's processing when assigned. Supports management with store maintenance and appearance, following procedures for maintenance and safety concerns.
2. Checks that displays and floor layouts are followed and updated. Looks for ways to improve store appearance and appeal to customers.
3. Supports management in creating an enjoyable shopping experience with positive customer service skills. Handles customer complaints as needed.
4. Communicates with store management regarding all aspects of store operations, keeping them updated and sharing incidents and concerns.
5. Supports management in fostering a positive understanding of policies and procedures. Directs complaints and criticism to management.

Supports the protection of resources under supervision.

1. Implements product control procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage. Controls property, utility, and product waste.

Other duties as assigned by the manager or assistant manager.
