Job summary

Care By Us Welham Green is hiring Care & Community Support Workers to deliver preventive breaks across Hertfordshire. You will provide in-home care, companionship and practical support to enable unpaid carers to take breaks.

We offer 40 guaranteed hours per week on a six-month fixed-term contract ending April 2027, with a pathway to permanence. Driving is required, and mileage is reimbursed. Training and ongoing support are provided by Care By Us and the City & County Healthcare Group.

Qualifications

• Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel across Hertfordshire.
• Good communication and reliability are essential.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care that gives unpaid carers a break.
• Offer companionship, conversation and meaningful activities.
• Support personal care with dignity and privacy.
• Keep records and communicate clearly with carers and teammates.
• Engage with the community to raise awareness of the service.
