Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the Brentwood School team in Brentwood. The role covers front-of-house and back-of-house tasks within a brand-new Boarding House operation and cafe, with term-time only hours and a 5-out-of-7 rota.

You will provide friendly service to students, staff and visitors, prepare beverages and light foods, and uphold strict cleanliness and food safety standards across the café and kitchen areas.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience preferred
• Willing to undertake DBS checks
• Able to work 40 hours per week with 5 out of 7 days including weekends

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient service to students, staff, and visitors in the school
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, light snacks, and pre-prepared foods
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the café, including counters, seating, and equipment
• Restock supplies and ensure displays are well-presented and inviting
• Assist with general kitchen duties, including cleaning, washing up, mopping, stock count etc.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations at all times
• Provide excellent customer service, fostering a welcoming atmosphere in the café
• Support occasional school events or functions as required
• Assist with setting up and serving meals to pupils and staff

Rate of pay:£12.94ph
Hours: 40 hours per week with paid overtime. 5 out of 7 days rota.
