A respected, values-driven not-for-profit provider of aged care services is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to oversee two co-located residential aged care facilities in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. With a strong reputation for delivering exceptional care to older people for over three decades, the organisation offers residential, community, and in-home support services, and is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

The Role

As Executive Director – Residential Services, you will lead two facilities (150 beds in total, including a 30-bed Memory Support Unit), reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board. You will manage and mentor two Clinical Care Managers, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

This is a pivotal executive leadership role, guiding the organisation through a period of national aged care reform, driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic expansion to potentially manage up to five facilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Resident-Centred Care: Ensure services meet the highest standards of safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
  
• Leadership & Culture: Inspire and empower Clinical Care Managers and their teams, fostering accountability and a positive workplace culture.
  
• Performance & Compliance: Oversee quality standards, clinical governance, and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
  
• Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth daily operations across both facilities, including the Memory Support Unit.
  
• Financial & Resource Management: Lead budget planning, contract oversight, and efficient resource allocation.
  
• Safety & Wellbeing: Promote a culture of safety for staff, residents, volunteers, and visitors.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, or related field – desirable
  
• Proven senior leadership experience in residential aged care, ideally across multiple sites
  
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance financial performance and exceptional care outcomes
  
• In-depth knowledge of aged care funding models, policy, accreditation, and compliance
  
• Demonstrated success in operational planning, HR, financial management, and clinical governance
  
• Skilled in leading, coaching, and mentoring diverse, multi-skilled teams
  
• Track record in quality improvement initiatives and achieving accreditation outcomes
  
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  
• Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and organisational abilities
  
• Current Victorian driver’s licence and valid NDIS Screening Check
