We seek a highly motivated and talented Full Stack Software Engineer to be our first dedicated full-time technology hire.

As a Software Engineer, you will bridge strategy and implementation, playing a key role in project execution that combines strategic insights with technical solutions, delivering end-to-end products to clients. The role requires intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, creativity, and strategic thinking. This is a cross-functional role with high growth potential; the ideal candidate will be driven and comfortable wearing multiple hats (Engineering, Product, Data).

Must Haves:

  • UK based: role is remote but only open to candidates located within the UK
  • STEM degree: from a top research-intensive university, preferably in London or Oxbridge
  • Engineering mindset: committed to building robust, best-practice aligned software
  • Client-facing skills: able to gather requirements and feedback as needed
  • Product-minded: ownership-driven with a focus on user experience
  • Highly curious: comfortable working through ambiguity with analytical rigor
  • Independent: self-starter with a growth mindset and limited supervision
  • Efficient: pragmatic, aiming for effective 80-20 solutions
  • Structured: problem solver and clear communicator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web, front-end, and data visualization applications
  • Write performant, well-tested, scalable code
  • Assist with deploying and integrating software into consulting solutions
  • Understand engineering trade-offs
  • Maintain clear documentation

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in software engineering within the Life Sciences sector preferred
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design
  • Proficiency in at least one imperative language: Python (preferred), Java, C++, etc.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CloudOps practices: TDD, CI/CD, etc.
  • Desirable: experience with Azure, NoSQL, machine learning, data engineering, data visualization
