Job summary

Crown Oil UK is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer with strong commercial experience in Laravel, Vue 3, TypeScript and GraphQL to join our established in-house development team. This is an on-site role in Bury (BL9).

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial PHP 8+ and Laravel experience.

• Experience in a collaborative dev team with code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and features with PHP and Laravel.
• Develop SPAs using Vue 3 Composition API and TypeScript.
• Develop and integrate GraphQL APIs.
• Write PHPUnit feature tests using TDD.
• Work with MySQL and optimise application performance.
• Use Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• Develop real-time functionality using Soketi/WebSockets.
• Build integrations including Microsoft Graph.
• Use Claude Code and agentic AI tools within the development workflow.
• Support and improve live production systems.
• Participate in regular code reviews and technical discussions.

What you’ll be doing

Your role will include:

• Building backend services and features using PHP and Laravel

• Developing SPAs using Vue 3 Composition API and TypeScript

• Working with MySQL and optimising application performance

• Working with Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD

• Developing real-time functionality using Soketi/WebSockets

• Supporting and improving live production systems

Nice to have

• Energy sector experience, particularly electricity and gas metering

About the team

You’ll join an established in-house development team of around 11–15 people, working on systems that are critical to the day-to-day operation and growth of the business.

You’ll have ownership of your work, contribute to technical decisions and work directly with colleagues and stakeholders to turn business requirements into well-built technical solutions.

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester (BL9)
Working arrangement: On-site
Core hours: 9:30am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday

Candidates must already live within commuting distance of Bury, Greater Manchester. This is not a remote role.
