Job summary

BAFTA is seeking a full stack software engineer to join a small agile team, working with React, PHP and Symfony for the Next Generation Toolkit paywall. The role emphasises clear communication and delivering robust features in an evolving product.

You will collaborate with designers and product owners, implement tests, and help shape future BAFTA Media Technology products. The position is based in London with the opportunity to contribute across BAFTA projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience building full-stack applications with React and PHP.
  • Familiarity with Symfony or similar backend frameworks.
  • Experience with Git version control and unit testing.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for project tracking.
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop front-end and back-end features for the paywall within BAFTA Albert’s Next Generation Toolkit.
  • Collaborate in a small agile team to deliver milestones and iterate based on feedback.
  • Contribute to additional BAFTA Media Technology products as needed.

Our opportunity

You’ll be a full stack software engineer ready to work in a small team using agile work methodology and experienced in React, PHP and Symfony (or similar framework).

You’ll be working primarily on BAFTA Albert’s Next Generation Toolkit, specifically on the paywall for the project. For fifteen years, BAFTA Albert has worked side‑by‑side with the UK’s screen community, helping transform the power of exceptional storytelling into measurable climate action – behind the scenes, on set and on screen. The Next Generation Toolkit is a new product launching in 2026 designed to provide practical tools, clear standards, direct actions, and certification that recognises change, positive impact and progress.

You may also be asked to work on additional BAFTA Media Technology products.
