Job summary

Blackfinch Group is seeking a Product Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. You will work with senior engineers, Product and Design to build and evolve marketable technology products, delivering high-quality features and expanding your skills with team support.

You’ll own defined features, write clean code, participate in reviews, and collaborate across disciplines to understand requirements and ensure robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience in full-stack software development (front-end and back-end).
• Experience with SaaS products and architectures is a plus.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Ability to solve problems using design patterns and established practices.
• Exposure to modern CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Some exposure to cloud engineering, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of well-defined features and bug fixes with senior support as needed.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code reflecting engineering principles.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to understand requirements and raise questions.
• Ensure code is reviewed and tested; participate in peer reviews.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and upcoming work to the team.
• Provide technical support to operations and client-facing teams when needed.
• Unblock teammates, pair when needed, and promote a collaborative culture.
• Stay curious about emerging technologies and share ideas with the team.
