Job summary

BGTS International is seeking a Full Stack Mobile Engineer to join our UK-based development team in London, Cardiff, or the Midlands. You will work across the stack, delivering mobile features with Java on the backend and Flutter on the frontend, while leveraging AWS and Sitecore where appropriate.

You will collaborate with product owners, designers and testers to turn business challenges into scalable, maintainable technology solutions. Experience with REST APIs and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot application, API, integration and production issues.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable and well-tested software.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD activities.
• Work with AWS and modern cloud-based development and deployment practices.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, testers, designers and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to Agile planning, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use AI-assisted software development tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining accountability for software quality, security and maintainability.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a talented and experienced Full Stack Mobile Engineer to join our mobile application development team.

You will play an important role in building and enhancing digital products used by thousands of learners and driving instructors across the UK. Working closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, designers, testers and fellow engineers, you will help turn business challenges into practical, high-quality technology solutions.

This is a hands‑on engineering role with a strong focus on Java backend development, REST APIs, database integration and end‑to‑end feature delivery. Experience with Flutter is highly desirable, while knowledge of AWS and Sitecore would be an advantage.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with strong commercial experience in software engineering, backend development or full‑stack development.

You should have:

• Strong hands‑on experience developing backend services using Java.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience delivering full‑stack features across mobile applications and backend services.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases and SQL.
• Experience with Git, automated testing and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD, code review, secure development and software engineering best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience with the following would be beneficial:

Flutter and Dart, AWS, AWS Lambda, AWS SQS, AWS CloudFormation, Sitecore, headless CMS, SQL Server, Jest, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, microservices, cloud‑native development and Agile/Scrum environments.

Experience using AI‑assisted development tools or helping teams adopt AI‑enabled engineering workflows would also be advantageous.
