Full Stack Engineer (Team Lead)

Type: 4 month fixed-term contract (expected to roll into perm).

This is a great opportunity for a Full Stack Engineer to join on an initial 4-month fixed-term contract, with the expectation of extension into a permanent role, leading a team focused on innovation.

Role Overview:

The Full Stack Engineer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the platform, requiring expertise in front-end and back-end technologies, scalable architecture, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality code, best practices, and adherence to agile methodologies.
  • Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain platform features using React, Node.js, Directus, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and APIs.
  • Matrix/Synapse Integration: Develop real-time messaging and collaboration features using Matrix/Synapse for decentralized communication.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Manage deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • Database & API Management: Design schemas and develop secure RESTful/GraphQL APIs for data integration.
  • Performance Optimization, Code Review & Quality Assurance, Security Best Practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Directus or other headless CMS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful & GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience leading development teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
  • Agile development, CI/CD, Git, Docker.
  • Arabic language skills for platform bilingual capabilities.
  • Experience with AI/ML integrations or recommendation systems.
  • Expertise in Matrix/Synapse for real-time messaging.
  • Knowledge of WebSockets, event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with platform monetization and payment systems.
  • Understanding of access control, OAuth, JWT, and data privacy regulations.
