Job summary

Deliveroo, London-based, is hiring a hybrid web/full-stack engineer to own and evolve the ordering experiences from the store to checkout. You’ll work primarily in React and TypeScript and contribute to backend services in Go, shaping code structure and reviewing work across the team.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers, participate in hiring, and operate in a fast-paced environment with short cycles.

Qualifications

• Must have strong full-stack experience across web frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Go or similar).
• Experience designing and rolling out A/B experiments with guardrail metrics and staged rollouts.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities and short XP cycles.
• Strong ownership mindset from brief PRD through design, implementation, rollout and production monitoring.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the store, item, basket, and checkout experiences on web, primarily in React and TypeScript.
• Contribute to backend services written in Go, or a similar statically typed language.
• Improve code structure, shape architecture, and review code across the team.
• Partner with Product Manager and engineers to scope and ship changes to the ordering funnel.
• Take part in the hiring process and support the growth of teammates as the team scales.
