Job Description:

Build Bold Technology. Make a Meaningful Impact.

Are you an experienced software engineer looking for more purpose in your work? Do you thrive in dynamic, start-up environments where your voice and skills truly matter? Excited by developing cutting-edge products that push boundaries and deliver real-world change? If so, read on.

Why This Role is Great

Our client is a fast-growing Tech for Good start-up, born from world-class research and backed by serious ambition. They're developing a next-generation hardware-software product that combines deep tech innovation with real human impact. As part of a small, capable team, you’ll influence architecture, set standards, and help scale the solution to market.

This role is for someone who wants to build, not just maintain, and who wants ownership of problems rather than just following tickets.

Here’s what you’ll get to do:

  • Contribute to designing and developing a groundbreaking new product from scratch.
  • Lead the software architecture across the entire stack.
  • Collaborate with UX, hardware, compliance, and product teams.
  • Write clear, scalable, and maintainable code, thinking ahead.
  • Pair-program and mentor to foster a strong engineering culture.
  • Work in the ambiguity and excitement typical of early-stage tech projects.

About You

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, is energized by deep tech, and wants their work to have purpose. You’ll work with forward-thinking colleagues, solving technical challenges elegantly.

The wish list includes:

  • 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of modern development practices, tools, and full-stack architecture.
  • Experience building mobile apps; Swift experience is a bonus.
  • Comfort working in Agile, collaborative environments.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, architecture, and clean code.
  • Good communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Bonus if you have a mathematical or analytical background, but curiosity and problem-solving are equally valued.

Not a perfect match? If you’re excited about the mission and have transferable skills, we encourage you to apply.

What’s in It for You

This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to shape the future of impactful technology.

  • Flexible hours with hybrid work options.
  • Lunch and dinner provided when working late.
  • Team outings and retreats, including outreach and off-site events.
  • A location near a major tube line, with facilities like a gym and climbing wall.
  • Access to a workshop with 3D printers and CNC machines for personal or professional projects.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our client and Humand Talent are committed to diverse and inclusive teams. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and experiences. If you believe you’d thrive here, we want to hear from you—even if you don’t meet every point.
