Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a Software Engineer II (Full-Stack) to join our London hybrid team working on tools to identify, onboard and contract merchants across brands. You’ll work across the stack—from backend services to web tools used by sales and operations—helping to quote, sign and scale partnerships in a fast-moving marketplace.

You’ll contribute to readable, well-tested software, collaborate with cross-brand teams, and participate in hiring to grow the team’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience writing web-based applications in any language and a willingness to learn Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala or Rust.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with NoSQL data backends (Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Memcached).
• Experience with scalable web architecture (high request-rate systems).
• Pride in readable, well-tested software.

Responsibilities

• Improve code structure and architecture across a full-stack domain.
• Own and influence design and implementation decisions for merchant onboarding and discovery services.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders across brands including Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt.
• Lead from the front on technical execution and mentoring of teammates.
• Participate in hiring processes and engineering interviews.
