Job summary

Instil Software Ltd is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to help build and scale a modern GenAI platform on AWS. You’ll work across frontend React/TypeScript and backend Python/Java/Node.js/C#.

The role spans UI design, backend services, and cloud-native operations in AWS. You'll contribute to scalable architectures, containerised deployments with Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD improvements while ensuring secure, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and/or JavaScript.
• Experience developing backend services using one or more of Python, Java, Node.js, or C#.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend technologies.
• Hands-on experience working with AWS in production environments.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems principles.

Responsibilities

• Build modern, responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Design scalable, maintainable UI architectures and reusable component libraries.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Python, Java, Node.js, and C#.
• Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Design, build, and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Work with AWS services to deliver secure, scalable applications.
• Deploy and manage applications in containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation practices.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational best practices.
• Support cloud reliability, performance optimisation, and incident resolution.
• Apply secure coding principles and cloud security best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues across both application and AWS infrastructure layers.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver production-ready systems.
