Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Fullstack Engineer focused on child safety to build data-intensive, AI-powered applications and infrastructure. You will work with operators and investigators to enable faster, safer workflows.

You’ll develop across the stack, from UIs to pipelines, and adapt to ambiguous environments while handling sensitive content. Experience with large-scale data systems and Python/TypeScript is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building data-intensive AI-powered applications.
• Able to design and operate large-scale data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, build, and maintain intelligence systems that detect, triage, and enable efficient human review of possible high severity harm.
• Develop across the stack: UIs, services, pipelines, and anything else required to solve the problems faced.
• Interact with partners across Product Policy, Platform Integrity, Safety Systems, and Research.
• Contribute to the team’s technical strategy, especially for child safety related tools and systems.
• Report on impact in a data-driven fashion.
