Job summary

Volter, a climate-tech startup in London, is seeking an Engineer to own end-to-end delivery across the stack, building customer-facing interfaces and backend services with data-powered functionality. You’ll work closely with the founders and engineers to ship features at high velocity and implement scalable foundations for pricing, billing and data ingestion.

You are a self-starter who thrives in a flat startup culture, values learning and impact, and can balance speed with technical debt.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and operating production apps as a full stack engineer.
• Strong backend with Go and/or Python; frontend with TypeScript and React.
• Experience with data-intensive features and time-series data.
• Designing and consuming REST APIs; event-driven patterns.
• Cloud deployment, IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD.
• Strong testing, code reviews, reliability and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Work with commercial and product to shape technical solutions and roadmap.
• Design, build and own features end-to-end, from backend services to UI.
• Build ETL pipelines to integrate with third-party data sources.
• Configure, monitor and maintain logging, monitoring and observability.
• Contribute to engineering standards: testing, CI/CD, observability, security.
• Ship fast: prototype, launch, measure, and iterate with customers.
