Job summary

• Substantial professional experience building and supporting full‑stack software.

About The Role

Citigroup Inc. is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for a hybrid position. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs that support real-time trading platforms. You will contribute across the technology stack, working on backend services and user-facing applications while helping ensure that data is processed accurately and reliably. The position calls for strong Java/J2EE and Spring expertise, experience with modern frontend frameworks, and practical knowledge of Oracle databases.

You will participate throughout the software development life cycle, from understanding requirements and shaping technical designs to deployment and ongoing production support. Secure coding, automated delivery practices, and platform scalability are important considerations in your work. You will also contribute to engineering standards, share knowledge with colleagues, and mentor junior engineers. The team works with contemporary container technologies, including OpenShift and Kubernetes, to support the deployment and operation of resilient services. Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have substantial professional experience building and supporting full-stack software, with strong proficiency in Java/J2EE and the Spring ecosystem. Experience working with Oracle databases, SQL, data modeling, and transaction integrity is important.

Applicants should understand secure software development practices and be familiar with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and production deployment processes. Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes is valuable. You should be able to assess technical trade-offs, troubleshoot issues across application layers, and communicate design decisions clearly. A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is expected. Strong collaboration, accountability, analytical thinking, and a willingness to support and mentor other engineers are essential.

Develop and integrate backend services using Java/J2EE and Spring, while contributing to frontend features with appropriate modern frameworks. Work with Oracle databases to support reliable data access, consistency, and integrity. Translate product and business requirements into maintainable technical solutions, and take part in design reviews and engineering discussions.

Write secure, readable, well-tested code and address defects across development, testing, and production environments. Contribute to CI/CD workflows and support deployment and operation of services on OpenShift or Kubernetes. Participate in the full SDLC, including estimation, implementation, code review, testing, release, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience, and maintainability. Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and other stakeholders, and provide practical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
