Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build the Securities Settlements Stock Record platform. You will design, develop and maintain high-performance microservices and SPAs using Java/Spring Boot and Angular/React, with Oracle DB expertise and strong CI/CD practices.

Work closely with NAM/EMEA leadership, apply RBAC and secure coding, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid model with opportunities for home-based days.

• Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery strategies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience conducting code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding.
• Familiarity with modern cloud-native technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Good to have hands-on experience on Kafka
• Good to have Apache Camel expertise

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will help to build the new Securities Settlements Stock Record platform, which will scale for high trade volumes, improve real time and batch reporting timelines and reduce risk by enhancing data quality controls to avoid any reputational and financial impact to firm.
• Collaborate with technology and business leadership in NAM and EMEA region.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build SPA frontends using Angular or React.
• Model, optimize, and manage Oracle databases.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development activities.
• Ensure code quality and test coverage per Citi standards.
• Containerize workloads with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Tekton, and Harness.
• Conduct feasibility studies and IT planning to align with business strategy.
• Govern SDLC from requirements to production rollout.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Architecture & Development

• Backend & Microservices: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, resilient microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and modern enterprise integration patterns.
• Frontend Engineering: Build responsive, accessible, and intuitive single-page applications (SPAs) and user interfaces using Angular / React.
• Database Design & Management: Model, optimize, and manage relational databases (Oracle), ensuring optimal query performance, indexing strategies, and data consistency.
• AI Assisted Development: Appropriately leverage available AI tools to accelerate all development activities.
• Engineering Standards: Ensure all software developed complies with Citi’s standards around code quality and test coverage.

Cloud & Containerized DevOps

• Containerization & Orchestration: Package, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and container platforms such as OpenShift.
• CI/CD & Automation: Integrate code into automated CI/CD build and release pipelines (, Jenkins, Tekton, Harness), enforcing code quality, automated testing, and security scanning.

Systems Analysis, Design & Leadership

• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, time/cost estimates, and IT planning to deliver technology solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Monitor and govern all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, system architecture, coding, unit/integration testing, and production rollout.
• Recommend and implement robust application security standards, role-based access controls (RBAC), and vulnerability remediations throughout the application lifecycle.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor junior engineers, fostering engineering best practices, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Operate with high independence of judgment, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, product managers, and enterprise architecture teams.
• Proactively manage and assess risk, adhering strictly to firm policies, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks.
