Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Edinburgh seeks a senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale cloud-native web applications and services. You will work in a collaborative team focused on real-time video and analytics, crafting resilient APIs and intuitive user interfaces for safety-critical use cases.

You will join a cross‑functional group of engineers and designers, contributing to scalable architectures while maintaining high standards for performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in software development across web applications and backend services.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or technical field.
• Ability to join us in-person at our Edinburgh city centre office 2 days per week.
• Legal authorisation to work in the UK.
• Programming skills in at least one general-purpose language (e.g., Golang, Python, C, C++, Rust, Java).
• Experience with web UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Cloud environments and infrastructure as code familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale cloud-native web applications and services.
• Develop front-end architecture and UI/UX with TypeScript frameworks.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to translate complex security workflows into intuitive interfaces.
• Develop resilient APIs and microservices for scalable cloud platforms.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and automate software quality checks.
• Own frontend components and support other teams using services.

• Front-End Architecture & User Experience
• Build responsive, high-performance web applications using modern TypeScript frameworks to deliver real-time video and analytics data in safety critical use cases
• Collaborate with product designers and engineering leads to translate complex security workflows into intuitive user interfaces
• Optimize frontend reliability, state management, and web performance across distributed client environments
• Backend Microservices & Cloud Infrastructure
• Design, implement, and maintain resilient APIs and microservices
• Contribute to our evolving architecture for a highly scalable solution
• Take ownership over components and support other teams using our services
• System Quality & Continuous Delivery
• Invest in automation throughout the software development lifecycle to uphold software quality
• Participate in technical design discussions, peer code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline improvements
