Job summary

Tesco PLC is hiring a Shift Leader to join our store operations. In this fast-paced retail role, you will coordinate a team, deliver consistent service, and drive improvements in store performance.

You will lead by example, mentor colleagues, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping environment while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• As a Shift Leader, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will take ownership of activities by coordinating a team to deliver.
• As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback.
• You will have a great understanding of how your team is performing and be the expert in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands on approach.
• With your guidance, your area will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It's our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you'd like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you. The table shows the periods of time in the week we'd like you to be available to work - the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you'll have 3 weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you're available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we'd still love to hear from you.
